Invasion!

Hello Everyone!

They've invaded! Roaming around, seeking what they can devour! I know this sounds like Satan or a "bad" science fiction movie plot, but it is happening in my garden! My Irish potatoes plants are in shreds, nothing but stems left! The broadleaf mustard greens are full of holes! At last glance a couple of days ago, they were fine, then suddenly - destruction!

The potatoes were developed enough that I don't think it will hurt the production, but I can't stand the thoughts of all those beetles lurking around. I guess they have to eat too, but I do wish they would find somewhere else to have the buffet! As for the culprits that have attacked the mustard greens, well, they've gone into hiding! I have something in store for them and it's not going to be pretty!

This episode has made me aware of how, when we let our guard down, our thoughts and minds can be invaded with the most destructive messages from the enemy and his "buffet buddies." Just a few days of "not being alert," caused the destruction of a whole season's harvest! How much destruction can be caused when we let our thoughts and minds be "diverted" from the purpose to which God has called us. Are we contributing to the "shreds and holes," and ultimately affecting the harvest?

In Ephesians, Paul talks about being alert to the schemes of the devil and how we are to use the armor of God as our weapon against his schemes. It is much more effective than that which I have in store for those "culprits" that are in hiding, somewhere in my garden!

Be Encouraged!

Plant Lady,
Oh No! First of all I'm happy you have plants, we have had so much rain not a lot of gardens are even in up here. Are you going to be able to save your mustard greens? By the way, what do you do with them? Do you fix them like spinach?
You are so right about letting our guard down. I think that's one of the devils best tricks is for us to get complacent. He whispers kick back you deserve a break. NO NO. Anyway as always your post was good.
Have a nice evening, I'm going to my other Bible study here in a few.
Love,
Lynn

Thanks for visiting my blog. I'm glad the poem was a help to you. That was one I used on a card when doing the card ministry. I pray you will be able to salvage you garden and get rid of the "invaders". You are so right, when we let our guard down the enemy comes right at us wherever he can but I don't want to give him any glory. I have a medical problem that has gotten worse in the last few days. Please remember me when you pray. I do not want to go to the doctor. I am really trying to put my trust in Jesus and believe Him for my healing. This morning after breakfast I was laying in my recliner and "pondering" my situation and as God did when I did the cards, He gave me a line of a song, "My life is in His hands". I found the lyrics and will post it later today on my blog. I really look to Him for ideas because I am not very talented in writing and He has always been faithful.
May God bless you and all that attend your revival. I pray that revival will swept our country for it is really needed. I truly believe we are living in the last days before the coming of our Lord and we have to stay on our guard, just like your garden.
Blessings to all,
AliceE.

Good Morning!
Well, I see something else that we have in common! My favorite hymn is "Be Thou My Vision." I first heard this song in Bible Study Fellowship, a Bible Study I was in for nine years and REALLY loved it!

Although I was sorry about the destruction that the beetles made in your garden, that was an excellent analogy that you made for how quickly the enemy can come into our lives and do so much damage if we fail to have on the full armor of God.
The devil knows where each of us are most vulnerable and that is where he throws his "fiery darts."

I hope that you will be able to get rid of all the pests in your garden and that it will thrive!

Plant Lady,

What a sad story for your plant, but a perfect description of my life!! The past few weeks I have let my gaurd down, and I was just in discussion about this with a close friend. It is so right, I wonder why things go so wrong, but your right. When we let our gaurd down, the enemy throws in temptation, and thoughts of destruction in order to ruin all the fruit we have grown!! The amazing thing is that because of Jesus' sacrifice, we can be miraculously brought back to life.

What an encouraging post.
Thank you plant lady for sharing!
Take Care,
Ashley Marie
